Day Zero - the transplant

This morning started off pretty rough. Gloria was still pretty sick from yesterday's chemo. As the morning progressed, she started to feel better.

The transplant took place around 2:00 PM. It took a little over an hour and was administered through an IV. The doctor said everything looked very good and that what was collected from the donor was above average quality. Following the transplant Gloria had a hard time keeping warm and shook very badly. To help control it they gave her medicine, which knocked her out for a few hours.

Other than that, the transplant was very successful. When I have more information, I will post it.

Thank you, Scott, for keeping your Mom's church family up to date. Praise God! When she feels like it tell her we are all still praying as hard as we can that everything progresses well.
Love and prayers, Barb

Gloria, Rodney & family,
You and the entire family have so many people constantly praying for your care, and we give thanks for all the tender care you are receiving from doctors and nurses, not to mention the donor. We are sending smiles and continued well wishes through all these computer cables! :-)
Shine on!!

So relieved to hear the transfusion is over and the doctor feels everything went well.I know now why my comments didn't come thru to you. Toni is here helping me. I told her where I clicked on and she said that would have gone to your regular e-mail. I don't remember what all I said but wanted to wish you a Happy Anniversary. It wasn't the kind of celebrating you would have asked for but under the circumstances it was God's blessing to you. New life and a person loved you enough even not knowing you to give of himself. To think it was even excellent quality. Sorry we forgot to bring your card.It went in the mail today. We might wait to later for the gift. Can't wait to see you next week. WE were so nervous today. Your dad kept busy working outside and I ironed all day. Love you. Hope you have a good night.
